About Amanda
Meet Your Instructor
I'm a Bay Area native, artist, educator, and lifelong photographer who believes that photography is one of the most powerful ways we can explore the world and share our stories.
I earned a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco, where I focused on social justice and equitable education. I'm also a credentialed art teacher with experience working with students of all ages.
I grew up in San Jose, spent nearly 30 years living in San Francisco, and have exhibited my photography internationally. While I love creating my own work, I'm especially passionate about helping others discover their creative voice through photography.
Whether I'm teaching a teen who is learning to use their camera with intention or working one-on-one with an adult photographer, my goal is the same: to create a supportive space where curiosity, creativity, and confidence can grow.
I believe every photographer has a unique perspective worth sharing, and I love helping the next generation learn how to tell their stories through images.
