Beyond the /f stop

A refreshingly unique photography experience

Experiment, Create, and Grow

Photography is more than mastering a camera, it's learning to see, explore, and communicate what matters to you.

Beyond the /f Stop offers hands-on photography experiences designed to build technical skills, creative confidence, and a stronger way of seeing the world. Programs include private photography lessons, small-group photo walks and workshops, and photography programs for schools and community organizations.

Whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time, looking to deepen your creative practice, or searching for an engaging photography experience, instruction is accessible, supportive, and tailored to the individuals in each group.

Every photographer has something unique to say. My role is to help you discover how to say it through images.

Small Group Photography Walks
$85.00

Explore San Francisco while developing your photographic eye. Each small-group walk begins with a short, hands-on lesson before we head out to practice composition, framing, light, and visual storytelling in the field. With guided photo challenges and individual feedback along the way, you’ll learn to slow down, look more closely, and make more intentional photographs.

Individual Sessions
from $125.00

Personalized one-on-one instruction tailored to your goals, helping you build technical skills, strengthen your creative vision, and gain confidence behind the camera.

What to Expect

Individual sessions are built around you, your camera, your experience, and what you want to learn. We’ll work together at your pace, combining hands-on instruction with plenty of time to practice, ask questions, and experiment. Whether you want to understand your camera better, strengthen your composition, explore a new technique, or develop your creative voice, each lesson is tailored to help you grow with confidence.

Small Groups
Walks are kept small to allow for plenty of time for individual guidance, questions, and feedback. We’ll begin with a short lesson and make sure you’re comfortable with the essential controls on your camera before heading out.

We’ll explore visually interesting locations while putting concepts like composition, framing, light, perspective, and visual storytelling into practice.

I’ll be there throughout the walk to answer questions, help with camera settings, and offer feedback as you photograph. You don’t need to know your camera inside and out. Bring your camera, your curiosity, and a willingness to experiment.
